We first encountered Northern Inuit dogs in 2019, when beginning to think about getting a second dog.  Like many people, we had seen various “wolf-alike” breeds—dogs that resemble wolves without being wolf-dogs or wolf hybrids.

The more we explored, the more we were drawn to the Northern INuit dog breed. It took us two years before we brought home Buck (Mountain Myst Dream of the Arctic Wolf). It was within the first four months of his being with us that we turned to each other and asked, “What would you think about breeding these dogs?” 

That was the start of Squam River American Northern Inuit Dogs.
